Anaesthesia and Surgery
Should your pet require a procedure or surgery under anaesthesia, you can be confident that they will be cared for by our experienced and dedicated veterinary team.
We take anaesthetic safety seriously and use modern multi-parameter monitoring equipment throughout procedures. This allows our team to continually monitor important vital signs, including blood pressure, oxygen levels, carbon dioxide levels, heart rate and more, helping us provide the highest standard of care before, during and after your pet’s procedure.
Our experienced veterinary surgeons perform a wide range of procedures, from routine operations such as neutering through to more complex and emergency surgeries, including abdominal procedures.
For cases requiring additional expertise, we also work with visiting advanced practitioners and specialists who can provide support with more complex procedures, including orthopaedic surgery. This means that, wherever possible, your pet can receive advanced surgical care in a familiar and supportive environment.

Dental Care
Dental health is an important part of your pet’s overall wellbeing. Around 80% of cats and dogs develop some form of dental disease by just three years of age. Pets are also very good at hiding dental pain, meaning significant problems can easily go unnoticed.
Good dental hygiene, including regular tooth brushing, can help prevent disease. However, tartar and dental problems often develop with age, so regular checks and professional descaling, polishing and a full dental assessment under anaesthesia can help keep your pet’s mouth healthy and pain-free.
To make preventative dental care easier to budget for, we offer fixed-price dental descaling and assessment.
Dental X-Rays
Some painful dental conditions are hidden below the gumline. Problems such as feline resorptive lesions and broken or diseased roots may not be visible during a routine examination. Dental X-rays allow us to identify this hidden disease and choose the most appropriate treatment.
Dental Treatment
Our experienced veterinary team performs both routine and surgical dental extractions, using local anaesthetic nerve blocks to help keep your pet comfortable.
We have invested in modern dental equipment and instruments, helping us provide effective treatment and get your pet back to a comfortable, pain-free mouth as quickly as possible.

Laboratory and Imaging
Diagnostic Imaging
Diagnostic imaging allows us to look inside your pet’s body in a safe and non-invasive way, helping us investigate symptoms, identify injuries and diagnose a wide range of medical conditions.
Our imaging facilities include digital X-rays, which can be used to assess bones, joints, the chest and abdomen, as well as ultrasound, which provides detailed images of internal organs and soft tissues. Depending on the investigation required, your pet may occasionally need sedation or a short anaesthetic to help us obtain the best quality images while keeping them comfortable.
Our veterinary team will explain any recommended imaging, what it involves and discuss the findings with you.
In-House Laboratory
Our in-house laboratory allows us to rapidly process blood samples, assessing organ function and blood cells within minutes. Having results available quickly can be particularly valuable when caring for pets that are acutely unwell or when making decisions before a procedure or surgery.
Microscope examinations are also an important part of our diagnostic work. We use microscopy to examine samples including urine, skin and ear samples, helping us investigate a variety of conditions. We can also perform cultures to check for bacterial infections and help select the most appropriate antibiotics when required.
For more specialised testing, some samples need to be sent to external laboratories. We have overnight courier collections, allowing samples to arrive at the laboratory the following morning and helping us receive results as promptly as possible.
By combining diagnostic imaging, in-house testing and access to specialist external laboratories, we can investigate your pet’s condition efficiently and provide informed, individualised care.
Midsomer Pet Club members receive annual urine screening
