Laurence Webb BVSc MRCVS is the director of Midsomer Veterinary Centre. He has lived in Midsomer Norton since he qualified from Bristol University in 1996 and has worked at the practice since 2000 before purchasing if from Charles Thursby-Pelham in 2014.
He is a familiar and popular face to our clients and enjoys getting to know his patients well. His calm and gentle approach is appreciated by nervous dogs and cats and he has a reputation for being kind and gentle to the pets we treat. Laurence is keen on all aspects of all aspects of veterinary work and is enthusiastic about ensuring Midsomer Veterinary Centre develops to provide the best care in the area. Laurence met his wife Sam, who worked as a veterinary nurse, in his first job after qualifying. They share their house with three cats and their two children, who go to school in Midsomer Norton. In his spare time Laurence enjoys the outdoor life: rock climbing; walking; camping and music, having taken up the ukulele and mandolin, much to his wife's dismay |

Samantha Butler BVSc MRVCS recently qualified from Bristol University.
Sam started her working life as a veterinary nurse in 1993. After three years as a nurse, Sam developed a career in communications and training, working with NHS pharmacists before embarking on her veterinary degree. After 2 years studying in Canada, then 5 years at Bristol University, she should be proud of her achievements. Sam has always intended to work as a general practitioner in a traditional practice and the small and personal nature of Midsomer Vets is ideal for her. She shares an interest in feline medicine with Laurence and was awarded runner up in the ISFM/International Cat Care award for excellence in feline medicine whilst at university. At graduation Sam was also awarded the final year prize for the student who demonstrated the most commitment to the clinical care of small animal medicine patients. Sam loves talking to and connecting with people. Her approachable and caring nature should make her a popular choice for our clients and their pets. Outside of work Sam's own cats, Rupert and Shortstop along with Tim the Labrador keep her on her toes! |
Nursing Staff
Veronica Deery BSc RVN
Veronica is our newest nurse but brings with her a wealth of experience, having qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1990. Veronica has spent the last 10 years working at Companion Care, a chain of corporate veterinary surgeries, but felt that a return to a small, independent practice with the focus on patient and client care was due. Her clinical skills will be welcomed by all and she enjoys seeing clients, so we hope that she will quickly become one of our client's favourites! |
Nicky Baker RVN
Nicky qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1991 and joined our team in 2008. She works part time and shares the rest of her time with caring for her family and running a dog walking business. She is particularly known for her kind and caring nature, both with pets and their owners. She has two children and lots of dogs! |
